He is risen...

Almighty God,

who through your only-begotten Son Jesus Christ overcame death and opened to us the gate of everlasting life: Grant that we, who celebrate with joy the day of the Lord's resurrection, may be raised from the death of sin by your life-giving Spirit; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever.

Amen.

Easter Prayer for Families
Dear God, we as a family praise you. This is the day that the Lord has made.
We rejoice on this Easter day. We rejoice singing praises to Jesus' name. Jesus is risen, and he brings new life to all.
Dear Jesus,
we thank you for giving your life for us on the cross. We thank you for forgiving our sins.
We thank you for loving all the people of the earth. We pray your blessings upon our family.
Unite us in your love. Make our home a safe place. Help us to reach out to the poor and the needy. Help us to speak for justice and against oppression.
We pray your blessings upon all nations.

Help us to repent of all violence and crime. Lead us to become a loving community.
We praise you, Jesus our savior. We thank you for this day.

Amen.

The Gsopel- St. John 20' vrs. 1-9

On the first day of the week, Mary of Magdala came to the tomb early in the morning,
while it was still dark, and saw the stone removed from the tomb.
So she ran and went to Simon Peter and to the other disciple whom Jesus loved, and told them,
“They have taken the Lord from the tomb, and we don’t know where they put him.”
So Peter and the other disciple went out and came to the tomb. They both ran, but the other disciple ran faster than Peter and arrived at the tomb first;
he bent down and saw the burial cloths there, but did not go in.
When Simon Peter arrived after him, he went into the tomb and saw the burial cloths there,
and the cloth that had covered his head, not with the burial cloths but rolled up in a separate place. Then the other disciple also went in, the one who had arrived at the tomb first,
and he saw and believed.
For they did not yet understand the Scripture... that he had to rise from the dead.
